As the leaves begin to fall and Autumn once more spends her lavish coin upon the land, my thoughts turn to Jam and most of all, What Kind Shall I Make This Year?.My neighbour Lee has the most bountiful Bartlett pear tree and good thing too, as my Flemish pear did not do well this year - I got one pitiful pear from her.
So with Lee's blessing, I have harvested over the last couple of weeks, a great harvest-load of windfall pears.
When I was in Edmonton last year, my friend Scott treated me to his Pear Peach Ginger Lime Jam. One taste and I was in Heaven!
So this year, with a nod to Scott who will be out here in November: here is my version - Pear Lime Ginger Butter.
Bountiful Blessings of Bartletts to one and allShanti
